Security Breach At The Jackson Estate

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Onlookers could have been forgiven to think that something terrible was happening at the Jackson Estate at the weekend, when helicopters were seen circling overhead and LAPD officers were surrounding the grounds on foot with loaded shotguns drawn.

But according to TMZ , the emergency call about a burglary in progress -- that came from outside the house -- turned out to be nothing.

There has been a lot of excitement at the family home in Encino, Calif. over the last week, after an incident involving Jermaine Jackson's 13-year-old son Jaafar's purchase of a stun gun online.

Since last Monday, the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services have been interviewing the family matriarch, Katherine Jackson, and some of the children who live with her in the mansion.

The Jackson security team told TMZ that none of the children -- including Michael Jackson's three kids and some of their cousins -- who live there got a hold of the weapon, since it was intercepted three weeks earlier.

Some celebrities haven't been so lucky when it comes to their Hollywood Hills homes being robbed however.

According to ABC News , over the last two years there have been a string of robberies of star homes surrounding Los Angeles, involving the theft of high priced goods.

In December 2008, burglars ransacked socialite Paris Hilton's residence and got away with over $2 million worth of jewels, cash and clothing.

A couple of months later the home of Audrina Patridge was burglarized, with over $43,000 in goods missing.

The next target of the four thieves caught on surveillance cameras, dubbed the "Bling Ring," was "The O.C." star Rachel Bilson in May 2009.

Several other celeb properties fell victim to the group of designer goods robbers -- belonging to actor Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan and Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox -- before the teenage culprits were caught after being overheard bragging about their steal.
