Four arrested in crack cocaine bust

Four people are behind bars, accused of bringing in drugs from Milwaukee and selling them in Eau Claire.

Police say a drug bust happened Wednesday night at a house on William Street. Investigators say Christopher Jones, Eugene Woods, and Marquan Woods were arrested for selling marijuana and crack cocaine.

Ashley Funmaker was later arrested for maintaining a drug house.

Even though they were busted in Eau Claire, they're all from Milwaukee. Investigators say that's not uncommon and they've seen more big city drug dealers move into our area.

Jeff Wilson with the West Central Drug Task Force says, "There's greater demand and a better price in the Eau Claire than there would be in a metro area like St. Paul, Minneapolis or Milwaukee. Being on the interstate systems, it's easy to jump on and be in the Twin Cities in an hour and a half or Milwaukee in 3 hours."

The suspects will be in court Friday for their initial appearances.
