Voters in 11 counties will have their say on the 80 million dollar referendum for facilities improvement of Western Technical College this November. Jackson, Monroe, and La Crosse counties are just a few that will be making the big decision to raise property taxes. If passed the property tax impact on the owner of a $100,000 property will be $3.25 a month or $39 a year.
The 80 million dollars will go towards upgrading and improving the Coleman Center, Kumm Center, Integrated Technology Center, Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technician Center. It will also help fund a new greenhouse and parking ramp.
President of Western Technical College said that he hopes the improvements will allow them to increase the student population to 5,000 students by the year 2020.
