The Mayo Clinic Health System in Tomah will be getting a major makeover later this year.
Franciscan Healthcare announced Thursday that they approved a $2.48 million renovation project for the clinic. The building will be remodeled to increase clinical space and add a rehabilitation service to the second floor. The clinics lobby area will also be redesigned.
"We have long waiting lines, long waiting lists. We have people lined up at the door at 7 a.m. when we open and this community Monroe County needs increased health services. We need more availability and that's what is really driving this project," says director Susan Christianson.
The buildings last renovation was in 1995. They will be adding three new family medicine providers in the next few months so the extra rooms will be helpful. The renovation is expected to be complete in spring of 2013.
