A local pediatrician is charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year old patient.
60-year old Dr. David Van de Loo is charged with felony second degree sexual assault and causing a child to expose their genitals.
The criminal complaint says Van de Loo gave the child a physical exam on August 30th where he touched the child's genitals in a sexual way.
In the complaint, Van de Loo told investigators touching the child was part of a medical procedure.
But several doctors at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire told police it was improper.
The hospital says Van de Loo is no longer employed there.
If convicted, he could face up to 40-years in prison.
