Fire Update and Donation Drive

Posted: Updated:

A donation drive is under way at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in support of the two surviving students displaced by an Oct. 8 apartment fire that killed two of their roommates.

Gift cards, school supplies and monetary donations may be dropped off from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today through Oct. 12 at donation tables near the Service Center in UW-Eau Claire's Davies Student Center, or at the Service Center anytime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Checks should be made payable to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, with "fire victims donation drive" indicated on the memo line. Credit card donations may be made online at http://www.uwec.edu/foundation by selecting "Give now" and indicating "fire victims donation drive" in the gift information field of the online form.

Garret Isakson, a junior management major, and Casey Malan, a senior English major, survived the fire that destroyed their Water Street residence. Ross Livermore, a sophomore computer science major, and Jacob Clarkson, a senior physics major, died from injuries sustained in the fire.

The donation drive is sponsored by the Student Services Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
