Governor Scott Walker says the National Guard is now on standby to help relief efforts on the East Coast.
While Wisconsin National Guard units haven't been requested yet, commanders are already identifying resources that could be helpful.
Guard units from the Badger State helped in North Dakota after the ice storms in 2009, and during Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.
The National Guard says it has more than 61,000 troops and 140 helicopters it can deploy to help hurricane damaged areas.
